About Us

VVA Logo

The Vietnam Veterans of America's mission is to promote and support the full range of issues important to all veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans.  Vietnam Veterans of America is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families.

The Cayuga County Veterans Memorial Committee follows this same mission and is approved for exempt status under Federal Income Tax regulations under section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Contributions to our committee are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.  We are also qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.  Organizations exempt under 501(C)(3) of the Code are further classified as either public charities or private foundations.  We are being treated as a public charity.  The effective date of our exemption is September 1, 2006.

Inclusion Policy

We have a responsibility to live up to our mission of accepting all individuals who have served in our military and citizens who chose to help with our community projects.

Cayuga County VVA 704 fosters a culture of acceptance that's, respectful and inclusive to everyone who attends our functions. The inclusion of all makes a brighter future for all people.  Discrimination, overt or through unconscious bias, has no place at any of our activities
